Maple Nut Ring
( Back to Cookbook Main Menu | Back to Desserts | Back to Other Sweet Things )

Not an original or special recipe of my mother's. But one of the desserts she made, and took to potlucks and gatherings.

1/2 cup margarine or butter
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup maple flavored syrup
2 cans flaky style refrigerator biscuits

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 cup ring pan.

Melt margarine or butter in a sauce pan, and stir in sugar, pecans, and syrup. Pour half of this mixture in the ring pan. Separate the biscuit dough into 20 equal pieces. Place the biscuit dough pieces into the ring pan. Pour the remaining liquid mixture over the dough pieces.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes in the pre-heated oven. Remove from the oven, and invert the pan on a serving platter to remove the finished maple ring. Serve and enjoy.
