A very special traditional candy around the Ward
household.
1 1/2 cup granulated
sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
Mix sugar and milk in saucepan over medium heat until
it reaches the soft ball stage. Add Vanilla and cool.
Beat until creamy and stiff. Wrap in wet towel to
1.5 inch diameter. Slice into 1/4 inch thick slices.
