( Back to Cookbook Main Menu | Back to Breads | Back to Baked Bread )

Anna found this recipe on-line one day when she wanted home-made dinner rolls, but did not have the time to make out standard rolls. These turned our very well. We liked them so much she made them agian in just a couple of days.

1 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
2 (1/4 oz) packages yeast
1 tsp salt
1 large egg, beaten
3 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp butter, melted

In a large bowl, mix together the warm water, sugar, oil and yeast. Let it stand for 15 minutes until the yeast mixture is bubbly. Stir the salt and the beaten egg into the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour. Add flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Cover the dough and let it rise for 10 minutes in a warm place.

Spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray and form the dough into balls. Place the balls on a cookie sheet 2-inches apart, and let them rise for 20 to 30 more minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. They should be pillowy and soft. Brush with melted butter while warm.
