Dispite the name this a wonderful, and much loved,
cake from Emma Ward's home. |
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
4 eggs |
1 tsp vanilla
dash salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup sour milk |
Mix soda and sour milk together and set aside. Cream
shortening and sugar. Add eggs, salt and vanilla.
Alternate adding sour milk mixture and flour to creamed
mixture until all added.
Pour batter into greased and floured pans. Bake
at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
