This is another Ward family special cake recipe,
and like all of them it is delicious.
Cake:
2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup finely chopped apples
1 cup coconut
Topping:
1 stick margarine
1-1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp baking soda
Mix all cake ingredients together. Bake at 325 for
1 1/2 hours.
Mix topping ingredients in saucepan, bring to a
boil. Pour over cake while hot. Let stand at least
one hour.
