Another of the cookies that Mom usually made for
Christmas. She would top them with some type of candies, or very
rarely she would make up a quick frosting. |
2 cups all purpose
flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp vanilla |
Stir together the wet ingredients in a bowl, and then
combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry, and mix well.
Drop a heaping tablespoon of the dough onto a well
greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about
20 minutes, or until golden brown.
